The two reserved constituencies for Scheduled Castes (SC) in Gujarat — Kutch and Ahmedabad (West) — came up with a very interesting voting pattern this time. With the voters here comprising SCs, Muslims and the upper castes, result predictions are anybody’s guess. Pre delimitation, both the LS reserved seats of Patan and Dhanduka were won by the BJP.

On Thursday, the voter turnout for both these seats was similar to other places across the state. In fact, the low turnout has made result predictions all the more difficult.

The Election Commission was forced to adjourn the polling at a booth in Rupapara village of the Mehsana Lok Sabha constituency in north Gujarat after a clash between BJP and Congress workers, who later barged into the booth on Thursday.
